Suggesstions to AYUSH for Reform of Ayurvedic Education

1)    Suggestions for Conference on Education Reform by AYUSH on 17 & 18 March 2015,in Delhi

a)    Can mention to AYUSH & Minister Shripad Naik – that Revolution can make changes but progress is mostly depend on Stability of Implementation ( Just in 2012 CCIM has launched New format of Syllabus .So it should not be changed for Minimum 2 batches to be completed of 4 & half year New plan )

b)    First Launch Secularism in Ayurvedic Sector .All  types of Ayurvedic colleges like Govt, Aided or Private ,should be treated with same rules & regulations ,rights & duties etc Same salary ,same Fundings ,Same opportunities in different committees. When all these colleges will come on same platform ,then there can be Good comparison & progress. Funding should be given to all Hospitals ,attached to Private colleges for medicines, stay of patients

c)    One should set the Goal for Short term ( Completion within 1 year) ,Moderate Term – for 3 Years  ( Blue Print for Plan to be Executed after 5 years i.e Total Reform in Education System ) ,Long Term Goal ( To be Implemented after 5 Years)

d)    Short Term Goal --- for 2015 & 2016 -- Genuine efforts to improve the status of all Ayurvedic Colleges in India up to optimal level .Till then No single New College should be given permission or established .Adequate real full time staff in all colleges, Immediate upload table of Name of Ayurvedic Colleges & their web site ,Immediate upload all mail IDS of all Teachers ,subject wise, for starting Academic & clinical Communication, Immediate preparation of Documentaries on the different remarkable activities of Ayurvedic colleges ,all over india ,Like Best Pharmacies, Best Hospitals ,Best Teachings ,special treatments like Ayurvedic Treatments for Snake Poisoning, Treating Bone fractures  ,Treating Eye disorders etc ,Documentaries on Well known Ayurvedic Practioners in India   .
Next will be starting Call center of Ayush & CCIM ,Starting Suggesstion Box or  Complaint Box on the web site of AYUSH & CCIM ,with immediate compliance facility ,Starting Digital Library on Web site of AYUSH & CCIM ,New Innovation --- Start minimum 8 hours working Television channel by Ayush ,where all the AYUSH programmes will be broadcasted like Documentaries on Ayurveda,Dicussions on various topics of Academic,Clinical ,Research Importance ,Interviews on eminent Ayurvedic Vaidyas & their treatment styles ,Documentaries on various study Tours like Visit to Famous Herbal Gardens in India ,visit to see working of PHC centers,Snake Garden ,Water purification,Sanitation system ,Hospitals for communicable diseases ,Visit to Ayurvedic Pharmacies with GMP norms .

Another short Term Goal – make it Compulsory to all Ayurvedic colleges to upload  on their web site –Abstracts of all MD ,PhD Researches ,completed in their colleges ,within 3 months from the letter

Another Short Term Goal – With some Incentives ,all Research Directors from all colleges should be asked to submit Titles for various MD ,PhD researches ,in all subjects with Material & methods .This is like Research Project Banks ,from where Ayurvedic students can borrow project ideas

e)    Moderate Term Goal --- For 2016 to 2018 --Disclosing New Reform of Education System ,which may be implemented after 2020 .Declaration of New Syllabus for total duration of Course – for all Years -- & not step by step , ,Detail proforma of Practical & Clinical Journals ,Details of  Practical & Clinical Examination, Specimen Question Papers of all subjects for all the years ,Description of Credit Points , Details of Assessment of students for whole years  ---- For all such type of points --- There should be Continuous open on line Discussions & suggestions with various Teachers of India with core Committee of Reform ,on the New Syllabus ,New Duration of Course which will be implemented in 2020 .Creating Face Book like Social Media by Ayush for on line open discussions & comments .Visit of Core committee of Reform to all Ayurvedic colleges of India for Local discussions ,for understanding Local problems ,Checking  Number of Teachers ,Number of Patients & Infra structure Facilities .Preparation of Text Books in all subjects ,as per New Syllabus in English and if needed in local Languages too

f)     Long Term Goal – In 2019Mock drill of New Course ,without any stringent laws of Implementation ,with lot of Flexibility & permission in implementation for the course ,for the first Batch admitted in 2019 .But one must remember that if we do not complete our Short & Moderate Term Goals ,then this Long term Goal will be automatically postponed

g)    Long Term Goal – In 2020 – Actual starting of Education Reform system in AYUSH

Open Request Letter to all CCIM Members on 1 Feb 2015

Open Request Letter to all CCIM Members on 1 Feb 2015

From – Prof.Dr.R.R.Deshpande ,Pune India

Mobile – 9226810630

In 2015 –CCIM has launched on Line Proforma to be filled by all Ayurvedic Colleges in India. Congrates ! This was expected long before .But CCIM must be aware about Limitations of using Computer software or Digital Technology .This means some time there can be Human Error & some time Computer Error also .So by chance any college make such errors it should be talked & tackled in a very sympathetic approach & not like a big offense .This Technology will also take some time to be get properly digested by Management of colleges. CCIM must avoid henceforth the demand of Hard copy of Documents, making Files of 500 to 1000 pages & that too Files in 5 to 6 in Numbers.

Next Important Expectations –

1)   CCIM should create a Data Base of Information of various colleges & Repetitions of demand of same Information should be avoided like list of Instruments etc .Only any updates can be asked to upload .

2)   CCIM ask for Time tables & ATP programme from colleges .Now CCIM should declare their Time Table of visitation to different colleges in 2015

3)   CCIM should immediately upload web site address of all Ayurvedic colleges in India

4)   CCIM should immediately upload mail IDS  & mobile Numbers of all Teachers of Ayurveda ( List must be subject wise ) ,for  sharing Academic & Clinical knowledge
·        CCIM visitors should be Expert & field --  work person from that subject only ,who can only give justice to particular visitation .If General Ayurvedic Practioner from suburb of Delhi, who is CCIM member , is inspecting Sharir  Rachana dept of Ayurved college in Pune ,he will definitely do not know in & outs of Education system ,which is followed by Rachana Teacher staff .He even may not be knowing of syllabus & implementation of it .

5)   CCIM members should more concentrate on Administration & coordination. Only CCIM members having experience ( Present or Past ) as College Teachers either from Non clinical ,Para Clinical or Clinical Branch ,should be appointed for Inspection. Member without this experience should never be appointed for visit .Because he may not understand Merits & Demerits of college ,by sure .

6)   CCIM should declare ,who have formed a draft of MSR .So any query from Teachers can be directly discussed with the concern person .For Example in MSR of Sharir kriya there are 5 to 6 Instruments, which are not really needed for UG syllabus like Newton’s colour wheel, Viscometer etc .So deletion of such unwanted things should be done on Urgent basis

7)   CCIM members ,who go for Inspection in different Ayurvedic colleges & Hospitals ,if any nice things are noted , CCIM should  immediately upload that positive things on their web site ( through Audio, Videos, ppts, Texts etc ) ,for sharing with all other colleges  .This Information is equally important as like declaring list of derecognized colleges.

8)   CCIM   visitation should  be user friendly  ,giving equal Importance to actual working of Teachers & Infrastructure or room sizes, number of Charts etc

9)   Let us take example of Charts – In colleges most of the Departments Charts are prepared as per MSR of CCIM & then they are hanged or pasted in the rooms where Teaching Staff sit .This is just Aesthetic .No body can understand how many time students can utilize those charts ,by coming in Teacher’s room .Actually rolling charts are more useful ,which can be carried in the class rooms for Teaching purpose ,to avoid the writing on board .Now when there are LCD ppt presentations are going on ,there even these rolling charts will be outdated

10)               CCIM should encourage Teachers to upload their Teaching material on Net ,to make popular E learning concept in Ayurveda

11)               CCIM  can create separate Menu on their web site – only to give such Nice Links for E learning ( Links of uploads ,done by Teachers & Clinicians from Ayurvedic colleges or from all over India or even other experts of Ayurveda from outside of colleges – This can also be presents with Subject wise menu – For Example Click Ayurveda E learning ----- Click Sharirkriya ---- Click Sharir Kriya Video or Shari Kriya PPTS or Shari Kriya Audios or Sharir Kriya Texts etc .Similarly for all 14 Subjects )

12)               CCIM must start Call center or Toll free  Help line for all who wish to communicate with CCIM stake holders from far distances from India .Also there must be one officer in Head office ,who will just take care of the mail communication ,that CCIM received  & just can acknowledge the mails .

13)               In spite of thinking of derecognizing existing colleges ,CCIM should strictly avoid giving permission of New Ayurvedic Colleges in India ,unless & until ,they full fill all MSR criteria ,including  Number of Hospital patients .Some founders of colleges may claim that Hospital Facilities will be made ,till 3rd year of admitted students .But this assurance should not be allowed .Because Hospital with good number of patients & Herbal Garden ,should be prime requisites ,for starting New Ayurvedic college

14)               CCIM can now start preparing & uploading Ayurvedic E Samhitas,E Text Books ,Question Bank as per New Syllabus & Data Bank of Research Topics for each subject ,for PG courses .

15)               As far as possible Inspections of Ayurvedic Colleges by CCIM ,AYUSH ,MUHS or Local Medical Universities or State Govt ,should be one & same time in the Year .Their Inspection Proforma also should be one & same .This can save valuable Time & Energy of all Teachers from colleges

16)               Some of the above points can also asked with RTA ( Right to Ask ) scheme or Law

Dear Friends ,who have read this letter ,can kindly send their opinions on this matter by mailing me – on mailme.drrrdeshpande@rediffmail.com

Why to chant --- Ganapati Atharvashirsha ? - By Prof.Dr.R.R.Deshpande,India

Why to chant ---
Ganapati Atharvashirsha ?

This is sung by many people many times .But very few try to understand the meaning of the words .Scientific base behind those words .Of course even without knowing meaning ,if anybody chants Atharvashirsha by total faith on God & faith in himself ,he or she will also get benefited ,due to positive sound vibrations created by Mantra .This is a type of Bhakti marga in spiritual progress .Specific Sound vibrations created by Chanting Vedic Mantras is the Base of Music Therapy .This Music Therapy is found to be beneficial in the recovery of ICU patients .Unconscious patients can not perceive the meaning of Mantra .But those specific positive sound vibrations show the positive effects .

In these days there are also some people who are interested to understand the logical explanation for doing any spiritual activity .This is Jnyana marga .If they are convinced ,then they are ready to do any ritual.

So here let us understand some Logical explanation for chanting Mantra of Atharvashirsha .As a common sense we must accept that different types of sounds make different effect on body .For example ,if we talk lovingly with anybody ,he responds well but if we  shout on a child or especially young chap ,they bounce back .So Mantra definitely creates positive energy.

Athrvashirsha word itself has specific meaning .This is made up of A + THARVA + Shirsha .Tharva means unstable .Atharva means Stable .Shirsha means head or brain or mind .So by chanting Atharvashirsha regularly can make your brain or mind or thoughts more stable, calm & happy .Chanting of this mantra is like Tonic in this fast life or Hyperactive life style ,to chilled down our senses .

We must consider Ganesh is a symbol of Intelligence & mouse is a symbol of Vices or bad habits .Like mouse enters in house unnoticed likewise bad habits like drinking alcohol or smoking enter in our personality unknowingly .Mouse damages clothes & food grains, similarly bad habits or bad thoughts damages our mind .Ganesh has a control on the mouse, similarly we our Intelligence must keep control on bad habits or bad thoughts.

Remember Intelligence is a specialty of human being .Try to understand this verse

Aahar nidra bhaya maithunam cha saman etat pashubhihi naranam I  Budhihi visheshat tatra II

Meaning of this verse is that Aahar i.e.Food ,Nidra i.e sleep & Bhaya i.e fear are common instincts in beast & human being .But Buddhi i.e Intelligence in  human is a special thing that differs human from beast .

Buddhi or Intelligence only can solve many problems in our life .When Buddhi works ,life is like a heaven .When Buddhi is not working properly ,we do not keep control on our senses or mind ,the life can become hell .

So to keep our mind stable & sharpen our Intelligence, chant Atharvashirsha ,by understanding it’s meaning.

Your Friend

Ayurved,Yoga ,Panchakarma: Symbolic Meaning of God Ganesha Statue By Prof.Dr....

Ayurved,Yoga ,Panchakarma: Symbolic Meaning of God Ganesha Statue By Prof.Dr....: Symbolic Meaning of God Ganesha Statue By Prof.Dr.R.R.Deshpande Ganesh Festival – 2014  Ganesh is a God of Intelligence .That...

Symbolic Meaning of God Ganesha Statue By Prof.Dr.R.R.Deshpande

Symbolic Meaning of God Ganesha Statue By Prof.Dr.R.R.Deshpande

Ganesh Festival – 2014

Ganesh is a God of Intelligence .That is why we worship this God Ganesh at the beginning of every activity in our life like may be beginning of study ,wedding ceremony ,entering in new house etc .By this worship we want to appeal that ‘Please give us such a Intelligence by which we can prevent obstacles or we can overcome them if at all it happens ,’

Statue of God Ganesh also has so many symbolic teachings to us .His face is of Elephant .We know that Elephant is supposed to be Intelligent & strong animal .So we must also try to become strong & Intelligent .Broad forehead is also indicating Intelligence ,because in human body we have all centers of Intelligence( higher functions)  in forehead.Small eyes of Ganesh indicates sharp vision capable to select in between Good & Bad .Big ears teaches us to become  a good listener .Big belly is indicating that God Ganesh can digest many mistakes of human being (& forgive them ).Similarly we should also try to accept the mistakes done by other people & can forgive him to give a chance for improvement .Trunk of elephant  can pick up a beautiful Lotus & at the same time   ,when he becomes furious ,he can uproot even a strongest tree .So we  should also be soft spoken in day to day activities & also should be strong enough to make a lesson to bad people .

While worshiping God Ganesh it will be better if we could understand this aspect & purpose of festival .Otherwise worship can only become mechanical process.

Second point is regarding when we chant Aarti of Ganesh or Atharvashirsha .What is the meaning of this ? Are they only words or have some other sense? Yes ! any prayer has it’s own importance .Prayer is a dialogue with our soul .Prayer is like food of soul .Prayer is a process of Introspection .So it should be more of quite type ,with closed eyes, with sitting in a comfortable position .Prayer is a Meditation .Words in the prayer are like Mantra . Mantra chanting is like Music Therapy .It has a power to clean your mind, removing bad thoughts & implanting smoothening & nourishing thoughts .Prayer is like taking bath or shower to clean your mind & refresh your soul .

Athrvashirsha word itself has specific meaning .This is made up of A + THARVA + Shirsha .Tharva means unstable .Atharva means Stable .Shirsha means head or brain or mind .So by chanting Atharvashirsha regularly can make your brain or mind or thoughts more stable ,calm & happy .Chanting of this mantra is like Tonic in this fast life or Hyperactive life style ,to chilled down our senses .

So let us make Salute to God Ganesh or Power of intelligence !!

To: You

It was great attending your medicine class and receiving the knowledge which I couldn't have gained from anywhere else.

The classes were very well conducted and with new media of teaching in a very
systematic and organised way.

The syllabus was covered in sequential manner and the knowledge was up to date and  must to know.

The language was simple and easy to understand.

The ECG slide' ll definitely boost an additional plus point in our practice.

The experiences of your own practice you shared with us will definitely be useful for us in our future.

The most important part of the class was that you make us get actively participated by prescribing some homework, conversation and revision.

The slide on GP was truly a Dr. rrd's brain and was very interesting.

Thank you sir for sharing your valuable knowledge  and giving your valuable time to us.
